Who is the Steel City Chapter?
We are made up of current and former railroad employees along with railroad enthusiasts, historians, photographers, and people that love trains. A few years ago a group of us decided to form a group with the purpose of preserving the rich railroad heritage of Western Pennsylvania.
Our Goal:
We aim to commemorate and celebrate the history of the Pittsburgh region, with a focus on railroads as well as the industries and communities they served. This can be achieved in many ways, including:
-
Archiving of documents, photography and spoken word
-
Educational presentations
-
Models and other recreations
-
Acquisition and preservation of tools and equipment
How Can You Help?
Memberships and donations go a long way in our effort. Whether its helping acquires historic items for our library, maintaining a presence at local trade shows, or just keeping the lights on, every dollar goes a long way. You are invited to attend a monthly meeting and learn more!
