Who is the Steel City Chapter?
The Steel City Chapter of the Railroad & Locomotive Historical Society was formed in 2017 by a small group of railroad enthusiasts, current and former railroad employees. The Steel City Chapter serves the Greater Pittsburgh region; from the Allegheny Mountains to Ohio, from West Virginia to Lake Erie. We strive to be the flagship railroad historical society in western Pennsylvania.

Our Mission:
Our Goal:
Is to preserve western Pennsylvania's rich railroad heritage, for both young and old, current and future generations to learn about.

We aim to commemorate and celebrate the history of the Pittsburgh region, with a focus on railroads as well as the industries and communities they served. This can be achieved in many ways, including:
-
Archiving of documents, photography and spoken word
-
Educational presentations
-
Models and other recreations
-
Acquisition and preservation of tools and equipment
How Can You Help?
Memberships and donations go a long way in our effort. Whether its helping acquires historic items for our library, maintaining a presence at local trade shows, or just keeping the lights on, every dollar goes a long way. You are invited to attend a monthly meeting and learn more!
